Thanks to everyone who has participated in healing circles over the past several weeks as part of the Buchanan Street Mall Equity Action Initiative. Our project team has received very positive feedback from Fillmore community members on the quality of sharing and listening that is being supported by our facilitators, Atunse Justice League and National Healing Collective.
As we move through May, the focus of our bi-weekly Wednesday evening gatherings is shifting to discussing the key design element of the Memory Walk, which has been envisioned by community members as an Afro-centric art walk that connects all five blocks of the Mall and tells stories of the neighborhood and local heroes.
