Hello neighbors! As we shared in our September update, construction will begin soon on 9th Avenue and Lincoln Way in Golden Gate Park.
We designed the project to be completed in two phases (east and west corners) to minimize disturbance during construction for those traveling into and out of the park. Because of this phasing, there will always be vehicular and pedestrian access into and out of the park via 9th Avenue, though at times street traffic will be routed into fewer lanes and sidewalk traffic will be detoured across the street. Service access to the County Fair Building will remain open.
Once construction starts, you will start to see vehicular and pedestrian detours at the gateway. These and other construction impacts will be communicated via construction signage onsite, as well as in our newsletters, project blog, and project webpage.
The 9th and Lincoln Gateway project aims to increase pedestrian safety, improve landscaping and wayfinding features, and strengthen the park’s connection to the Inner Sunset. For more information, please visit the project webpage >>
