Golden Gate Park - Stanyan Street Edge Project

Description

The eastern edge of Golden Gate Park was in need of improvements; the goal of the project was to make improvements to pedestrian access and circulation while trying to activate the area with positive park-related activities. The project goal also included making improvements to various landscape areas so that they are more inviting to visitors while protecting this beautiful landscape.

Scope of Work

This project was focused on making improvements to various areas on the Stanyan Street Frontage in Golden Gate Park. The areas of focus included renovating the Stanyan Street entry plaza, adding a new pedestrian sidewalk between Haight Street and JFK Drive, making landscape improvements in the oak woodlands area south of the lake and improvements to the existing restroom building and converting this space to a functioning kiosk which is now occupied by local business Flywheel Coffee..
