Golden Gate Park - Stanyan Street Edge Project
The eastern edge of Golden Gate Park is in need of improvements; the goal of this project includes making improvements to pedestrian access and circulation while trying to activate the area with positive park-related activities. The project goal also includes making improvements to various landscape areas so that they are more inviting to visitors while protecting this beautiful landscape.
Scope of Work
This project is focused on making improvements to various areas on the Stanyan Street Frontage in Golden Gate Park. The areas of focus include renovating the Stanyan Street entry plaza, adding a new pedestrian sidewalk between Haight Street and JFK Drive, making landscape improvements in the oak woodlands area south of the lake and exploring improvements to the existing restroom building and converting this space to a functioning kiosk space.
This project is currently being funded by the 2012 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond.
Construction is currently in progress and will be completed in late summer of 2020.
