Shoreview Park Renovation Project
The 0.85-acre Shoreview Park is located at 1 Lillian Court between Beatrice Lane and Rosie Lee Lanes and it is at Hunters Point Hill in District 10 (Block 4713/Lot 008). The Park was transferred to the City of San Francisco on behalf of it Recreation and Park (RPD) from the Office of Community Investment and Infrastructure (OCII), as the successor of the former San Francisco Redevelopment Agency (SFRA) per Board of Supervisors Resolution No. 219-17 approved on June 13, 2007. OCCI transferred U.S. Department of Housing and Community Development, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program income funds in the amount of $1.9 million transferred for capital improvements at Shoreview Park.
The park was constructed by SFRA in 1979 as one of many mini-parks built to serve residents of the newly constructed affordable housing on Hunters Point Hill. The park has not fully functioned since the early 2000s and it features a concrete children’s play area, large lawn area, trees, picnic tables, barbecue areas and a southeasterly view of the Bay.
The renovation of Shoreview Park will include new:
- Accessible path of travel to park areas
- Children’s play area
- Irrigation, planting, and landscape areas
- Park lighting
- Picnic area and site furnishings
Construction began in the fall of 2019 and is expected to be completed in summer 2020.
