George Christopher Playground Improvement Project
The entrance to George Christopher Playground is located near Duncan Street on Diamond Heights Boulevard. The approximately 310,000 square feet park is tucked between the Diamond Heights Shopping Center and Glen Canyon and has:
- Baseball field
- Tennis court
- Related amenities
The project includes improvements to park access, new children’s play areas, exterior clubhouse restroom renovation, and related amenities.
The project is funded by multiple sources including: the 2012 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond; General Fund Add-Backs FY 2019 & 2020 (Supervisor Mandelman and Supervisor Sheehy); and additional Rec Park fund sources, all totaling approximately $5.3 million.
Please note that this is an approximate schedule; weather and other unforeseen issues can change this, though the Department intends to do its best to stay on track.
