This Fall 2022, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors will consider legislation that will authorize a three-year pilot study using the Upper Great Highway between Lincoln Way and Sloat Boulevard as a car-free promenade on weekends, holidays, and Friday afternoons.
The legislation will be heard by the Board of Supervisors starting in September 2022. If approved, the pilot study would go on until December 31, 2025. During the pilot study, the City of San Francisco will collect and analyze data (e.g., visitor usage and traffic conditions) and gather public feedback.
