Hi neighbors! We’re happy to report that construction on Field 5 was completed this month, which means that Crocker Amazon Soccer Fields 1, 2, and 5 are now completely renovated and opened to the public again.
Construction on the remaining two fields, Fields 3 and 4, is now in-progress and those are set to re-open October 12.
These new soccer fields are made from synthetic turf blades blended with natural cork pebbles. Using natural cork in place of rubber should reduce overheating and improve the quality of the play surface.
In July, the Recreation and Parks Commission approved an expansion of our project scope to allow us to include other needed improvements at Crocker Amazon. The parking lot expansion and installation of the new rain garden will require closure of Geneva parking lot Monday, October 16 through Friday, October 20.
