Parks Alliance is hosting a virtual meeting this evening at 6pm to review the scope of a Native Plant Garden, just south of the Leland community garden and adjacent to the proposed new trail along Visitacion Avenue.
Growing Outdoors and Learning (GOAL) has already received a $150,000 Community Challenge Grant for this project, and is seeking additional funding to make the project even more engaging and accessible.

he McLaren Trails Priority Project is restarting after a hiatus due to limited staff capacity and we have engaged an arborist for tree assessments in the Visitacion Avenue and University Hill project areas. You may notice some trees with white marking paint as you travel the trails.
In the next month or so, we will also be removing a failing pathway just south of Louis Sutter Playground, and replacing with a stabilized natural surface trail that is less steep. Please keep a look out for signs on site. We will create a detour for foot traffic, connecting the asphalt path that begins at University and Dwight with the Hidden Bridges west of the project site. There will not be access through the project site from that asphalt path to the playground; people will need to use University.

I’ll be in touch with a trails update before year’s end.
Thank you all for your engagement,
Lauren
