Construction is moving forward quickly at VMD! Cazadoro Construction, Inc. has been a collaborative partner in accelerating the schedule, with the goal of opening key areas of the park prior to the start of the SFUSD academic year.
Recent activity has focused on demolition within the children’s play area, and drilling and forming foundations for the sports light poles.

Fun fact, VMD is part of the Channel water basin, and we hit water at 9’ down.

From SF Public Utilities Commission:
A watershed is an area of land where all stormwater flows to a common outlet to the Bay or Ocean via connected waterways and/or a sewer system.
The Channel Watershed was originally comprised of sand dunes, marshes, and a large bay called Mission Bay. Hayes Creek, Mission Creek, and Dolores Creek once discharged into Mission Bay but today run underground beneath the Civic Center area and Mission District.
