South Sunset Clubhouse Project

South Sunset Playground is a 4-acre park featuring ball fields, basketball and tennis courts, a playground, a paved multi-use play area and the clubhouse. The 2,600 square-foot single-story clubhouse includes a multi-purpose room, restrooms, a kitchen, and an office. The building was originally constructed in 1957 and has not seen any major renovation in decades and is in need of repair to better serve the community.  The current tenant is Self Help for the Elderly and they currently provide hot meals and programming to over 100 seniors. The park site was included in the 2020 Health and Recovery G.O. Bond with the support of the District Supervisor.

Scope of Work

Planned improvements to the park include the reconfiguration and renovation of interior spaces in the clubhouse, access improvements, landscaping, and beautification.

Funding

  • 2020 Health and Recovery G.O. Bond
