Thanks to the 40 people who attended the virtual community meeting on February 23rd!
We discussed the creation of a permanent promenade along John Shelley Drive West, and possible traffic calming and pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements along Shelley North (Cambridge west towards the Upper Reservoir) and Shelley East (Cambridge to Mansell).
There was unanimous interest in formalizing the temporary promenade—with minimal additions or interventions, and maintaining a stretch of Shelley West as a car-free zone. Staff will move forward with environmental compliance and required approvals. You can find a copy of our PowerPoint presentation from the meeting under the "Documents and Materials" section of the McLaren Park Pedestrian, Bike and Streetscape Projects page.
