Construction is underway at the Golden Gate Park Dog Training Area!
Our contractor has quickly demolished the existing fencing and scraped away the top surface of sand, removed the asphalt parking lot, and removed stumps from last fall’s tree removals. Existing utilities have been mapped and stakes are placed in preparation for grading and trenching.
A couple weeks ago, a tree to the north of the Dog Training Area fell and landed on the construction fence. Thank goodness the area was closed off! Our capital project team has been in conversation with RPD foresters to coordinate additional hazardous tree removals and reforestation efforts.
