Demolition Begins
We are excited to report that demolition of the existing facility is scheduled to begin this Friday, April 19. We anticipate that the building demolition will be completed by mid-week the week of April 22. The contractor will then proceed with removing the caps of the piles from the building and then the rest of the site demolition. Demolition work will be contained within the project fence line.
Please be advised: There will be a temporary reroute of pedestrians along 6th Street from 4/17 – 4/24 to provide clearance for heavy equipment during demolition.
During the temporary reroute, flag persons will be on 6th Street to assist with routing pedestrians.
Thank you for entrusting our team with this transformation. We recognize that this is a bittersweet milestone for many folks for whom the existing facility has been a significant part of their lives. We are excited to be reaching this milestone and moving closer to bringing the new facility to fruition to better serve our community.
