BackgroundGlen Canyon Recreation Center

Glen Canyon Park is located off of O'Shaugnessy Boulevard and Elk Street. The approximately 67-acre park offers visitors: 

  • A children's play area
  • Hiking trails, open space, and creek
  • A picnic area
  • A recreation center, including a gymnasium, auditorium, offices, and related amenities
  • Two baseball fields
  • Two tennis courts
  • A two-story Silver Tree Day Camp building

Scope of Work

The project included renovations of the existing recreation center to provide an additional 4,500 square feet of multi-purpose space, gymnasium seating, climbing wall and related amenities.

Funding

This project was funded by the 2012 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond at $12 million dollars.

The construction contract award for this project was approved by Recreation and Parks Commission on August 5, 2015 (PDF). This construction contract award obtained and complies with all city, state, and federal regulatory approvals, including any that are specific to this project's funding sources.
