The Rec Center building is starting to take shape! Since our last update in July, we’ve made substantial progress on the exterior framing, and we are now starting the installation of the roofing.
Unfortunately, this past weekend, there was another break-in at the construction site. We are working together with the contractor to increase security and monitoring of the site.
If you see any suspicious activity on site, please call SF Police Department and Park Rangers right away:

Please note as well that pedestrian traffic is temporarily being routed from the sidewalk into the roadway on 6th Street and Folsom street until early September. This routing is to accommodate veneer curb work happening at the property line.
We are still on schedule to open the facility next summer 2026.
