These parks have been developed by the Office of Community Investment and Infrastructure (OCII), as a part of a decades long project (Hunters Point Shipyard Phase 1) to provide new housing, parks, retail and commercial buildings in the space that was once occupied by the Navy and industrial uses. The Hilltop neighborhood is currently developed and open to the public, with 13 parks, over 500 new homes, and 8 pieces of public art.

The Hillside neighborhood will be developed after 2030 and will include 11 parks. Once complete, the Hunters Point Shipyard Phase 1 project will provide 1,428 housing units, 24 parks and open space (totaling 26 acres) and 20,000 square feet of commercial space.
