Hi everyone- The construction fences are going up at Golden Gate Heights. The playground and picnic area are currently fenced off. Later in the project, the upper lawn will be fenced as well. The first step will be removing four trees and installing a new backflow preventer for the new irrigation system. The tree will be replanted at a 2:1 ratio. We recently posted four trees nearly the park entrance that will be removed due to their condition. We will be replacing these trees at a 2:1 ratio within the park. We have great news to share! Yesterday, the San Francisco Recreation and Park Commission approved the construction contract award for the Golden Gate Heights Playground and Field Renovation Project!
The next step is for the contract and other paperwork to be signed and completed. Construction is planned to start this summer!

Hi all, we are continuing to work closely with the Public Works Contract Administration team to review the contractors’ bids and qualifications. We are hoping to award the contract at the Rec & Park Commission in the coming months and start work on-site later this year. Hi everyone- We have an exciting update on the Golden Gate Heights Playground & Renovation Project. Earlier this month, we received 5 bids from prospective contractors, and many of the bids were within budget! Thank you so much to those of you who have supported this project and participated in our meetings and surveys. We are currently reviewing the bids and we will move forward with awarding the contract to the lowest responsive bidder. This process may take more time than usual due to current restrictions, but we are still hopeful that construction can begin later this year. Construction will take approximately 8 months, and during that time, the upper field and the children’s playground will be closed to all public access. Please e-mail with questions! Hi all- The project is currently out to bid, which means that potential contractors are reviewing the construction documents and pricing the work. The bids are due in early March. Stay tuned for more updates next month!

We will have a meeting at the park next week to discuss the project with potential bidders and we are looking forward to construction beginning this summer!
