Great news! The Rossi Pool Renovation project is nearly complete! The construction team is putting on the final touches, and everyone is eagerly awaiting the grand re-opening.

Recent construction activities include site and landscape planting, mechanical and pool equipment balancing, renovation of the baseball backstop and cage, exterior touch-up painting, and miscellaneous punch list items.

There will be a public free swim day on Saturday, February 12, 2022, to mark this amazing achievement. The pool facility will resume regular programming the following week. Stay tuned for more info and details!

The Rossi Pool Renovation Project progress is moving along well, and we have reached a significant milestone: the pool shell has been plastered and is currently being filled with water! Current construction activities are now focused on pool mechanical equipment start-up, balancing and commissioning. Other exciting news is the installation of the Arts Commission Mural, which adds a big splash of color to the natatorium!

We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work toward the finish line for this important asset to the community. We anticipate completion of construction in Winter 2021 and public opening in early 2022.

Project progress is moving along well, and the construction team is working diligently despite some delays due to unforeseen site conditions. Current construction activities include:

Building Envelope – Concrete scope complete. Painting subcontractor is onsite prepping exterior for paint. Asphalt subcontractor recently placed asphalt for tennis courts. General contractor preparing to install new staircase to basement.

Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing Rough-Ins –Mechanical subcontractor continuing work on pool heating and control systems. Electrical subcontractor continuing work on primary electrical connections and lighting control system. Utility subcontractor recently completed installation of domestic water/fire lines as well as grading along westside of jobsite.

Building Finishes – Specialty coating subcontractor recently completed epoxy floor coating for pool deck showers. Glazing subcontractor nearly complete with door, framing, and glass installation throughout building. General contractor installing wood paneling in lobby.

We anticipate completion of construction in late Fall of 2021.

Project progress is moving along well. Current construction activities include: 

• Sitework/Landscaping – The site utility subcontractor is currently working on the side sewer scope from Arguello East towards the property.  
• Structural Steel – Structural elements for basement staircase are in fabrication and should be delivered in the next couple of weeks.  
• Mechanical Enclosure/Basement – The plumbing subcontractor recently installed the fire draft line.
• MEP Rough-Ins – The mechanical subcontractor is currently working on exterior duct runs.
• Building Envelope – The glazing subcontractor is wrapping up on storefront items. Exterior doors and paint to follow.
• Interior Finishes – Interior aluminum framing in progress. The tiling subcontractor is currently working on finish tile/grout.  
• MEP Finishes – All trades working on trim out.   

We are anticipating completion of construction in Summer 2021!

Project progress is moving along well, despite some recent construction delays due to unforeseen site conditions. Current construction activities include: Exterior window and doors installation, interior tiling, epoxy flooring, painting. Pool and mechanical work include waterproofing, trench drains, equipment connections, MEP Rough-ins and MEP Finishes.  Sitework/Utilities work includes placing manholes and catch basins. We are anticipating completion of construction in Early Summer 2021.

Much progress has been made over the past couple months on the utilities, sitework and interiors. Highlights include formwork for the new North Stairs, Mechanical Enclosure steel columns, and Boiler System connections in the basement.

On the interiors, wall framing, drywall and insulation in locker room areas are near completion. The contractor is hard at work in the natatorium with pool gutter and tile install. Pool and mechanical/electrical/plumbing equipment and connections is on-going.

Completion and reopening of the pool is expected Spring of 2021.

Rossi Pool Renovation Project is moving forward as scheduled.   Work has included demolition of old infrastructure and equipment and the contractor is starting on new structural improvement work.  All going as planned.

Planning for the Rossi Pool renovation is moving along as the design team completes construction documents. We intend to put the project out to bid later this year – 2018.

The department anticipates keeping the pool and programming open through the fall, and we expect to close for construction late 2018. Anticipated construction duration is 14 months. Please check back, we will provide more details on schedule and closure as the project progresses.
