We're excited to share that the Crestline Connector Trail is one step closer to welcoming hikers once again!
Cazadoro Construction, our project contractor, continues to make steady progress on the stairway portion of the trail, which is now approximately 75% complete.
Next up, crews will begin constructing the retaining walls along the south side of the upper stair section, an essential feature that will help stabilize the terrain and enhance trail durability. This marks the start of the final phase of construction.
To complete the trail connection, one of the concrete barriers at the top of the trail will be removed, improving accessibility and creating a direct link to the adjacent roadway. In tandem with these efforts, the team will be laying down erosion control fabric and native seed in disturbed areas, ensuring a healthy and resilient trail environment moving forward.
As a reminder, several parking spaces along Crestline Drive remain temporarily allocated for equipment and material staging. We thank you for your continued patience and cooperation during this time.
The trail is on track to reopen in late summer, just in time to enjoy warm fall days and breathtaking views from Twin Peaks!
As for the Twin Peaks Promenade, the design team is finalizing the construction documents, and we anticipate sending the project out to bid later this fall.
