Our contractor returned to site last week, completing tree work around Grey Fox Creek and setting up fencing to begin work near the middle of Shelley Loop this week. The current active work area is near the intersection of several major trails, popularly known as “the intersection of 1st and Main.” For this work to proceed safely, there will be trail closures at the following locations:
- North – South trail from the north end of the Field of Dogs to the trail junction known as “1st and Main” will be closed much of the next three weeks
- East – West access road between Jerry Garcia Amphitheater and the eastern toe of “Sidalcea Hill” will be closed much of the next three weeks
- Most of the social trails north of “1st and Main” will be closed much of the next three weeks
- Philosopher’s Way Trail between Redwood Playground and Jerry Garcia Amphitheater will be intermittently closed, and only closed during work hours
We are working closely with our contractor to minimize trail closures as much as possible, and to reopen major trails outside daily of work hours (work hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm). For your own safety, please follow all trail closed and trail detour signs.
