Our community open house in November at South Sunset Clubhouse was a big success. Over 40 community members attended the open house. We were also pleased to welcome Tita Bell of Supervisor Engardio’s office who joined us as a show of support for the renovation.
As we shared in our December press release, conceptual design for South Sunset Clubhouse Renovation Project was approved by the Commission on December 21, 2023 (PDF). As a direct result of the comments that we received at the November open house, we adjusted the conceptual design to remove existing columns in the community space. Removing these columns will allow for a more flexible, open area for activities and events, and we’re delighted to have the opportunity to reflect this feedback in the approved design.
The clubhouse is a 2,060 square-foot single-story facility equipped with a multi-purpose room, restrooms, a kitchen, and an office. It was originally built in 1949 and then renovated in 1991. Planned improvements include the reconfiguration and renovation of interior spaces in the clubhouse, access improvements, landscaping, and beautification.
