Please be advised that as part of the Jackson Playground Improvement Project we will be performing soil testing work in two locations within the park over a period of two days next week, October 29-30. This work will measure the rate at which water infiltrates the ground, data which will be used as part of project planning.
This work will involve using an excavator to dig two large holes within the park: one near the tree line at the northwest side of the park adjacent to the ballfield and the other on the southwest side of the park in the field next to the tennis court. After testing is complete, the excavator will refill the two holes.
The two work areas will be closed off with temporary fencing and marked with caution tape. Construction equipment will be removed at the end of each workday.
We do not anticipate that this work will significantly disrupt park activities, though expect to see and hear construction equipment working in the park on these two days, as well as entering and leaving the project areas at the beginning and end of each workday.
Feel free to reach out with any questions.
