In June 2023, SF Recreation and Park Commission voted to recommend that the Board of Supervisors approve the conversion of a section of John Shelley Drive in McLaren Park, from a vehicular roadway to a permanent pedestrian and bicycle promenade. Board of Supervisors action is required for removing vehicular access on any SF Rec Park roadways.
The Commission’s recommendation will be considered by the Board of Supervisors Land Use and Transportation Committee on Monday, October 2 at 1:30 p.m. This hearing is an opportunity to express public comment on this legislation.
