We have been working on environmental compliance for the McLaren Trails project, which is complicated, as most of the trail work falls within natural resource management areas and under that Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Natural Resources Management Plan. We are also furthering design, including doing grading studies for trail and box step connections at the NE corner of the Upper Reservoir parking lot and along the access road. And we have been working with a variety of colleagues on improving the accessibility of our trail signage.
There’s some overlap with McLaren Trails and McLaren 2020 Bond Planning, as we are exploring potential improvements to circulation and wayfinding beyond the bounds of the McLaren Trails Project priority areas. There is potential for improved mapping of the park trail, path, and roadway system as a whole, and using that information for updating trailhead maps and other navigation tools.
We’ll be discussing access, connectivity, and circulation at the McLaren 2020 Bond meeting on 4/11 at 6pm. Please see the announcement below for details.
