Independent San Francisco Bay Area live-entertainment company Another Planet Entertainment (APE) in partnership with the City of San Francisco and the San Francisco Recreation & Park Department is closing out its 2025 season of its free concert series with two special events: the debut of Poolside’s Daytime Disco, a new branded party from the recording project of producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jeffrey Paradise on Sunday, September 7 in Union Square, followed by the EMPIRE 15 Concert on Saturday, September 13 at Civic Center Plaza – including breakout superstar Shaboozey, global phenom Fireboy DML and rising artist Red Leather, with more to be announced.

The EMPIRE 15 Concert lands on the heels of the label’s annual 415 Day Celebration where Mayor Daniel Lurie officially named April 15 “EMPIRE DAY” in San Francisco in recognition of its contributions to both the local scene and the global music industry. This honor comes after Founder / CEO, Ghazi, was featured on the cover of Billboard Magazine’s Sports & Music Issue—where during All-Star Weekend San Francisco Assemblyman Matt Haney gave him a recognition award.
Poolside began in a converted Los Angeles backyard pool house in early 2011 when Paradise set out on a low-stakes journey to produce appropriately chill music for summer soirees, a light but danceable kind of music with sunny vibes and liquid rhythm that he dubbed "Daytime Disco.” The moniker inspired Poolside’s Daytime Disco weekly Spotify playlist. Curated by Paradise featuring his own music and works by like-minded artists, it now boasts almost 43,000 followers and has become the catalyst for the debut of the Daytime Disco party in Union Square and future events to come. The launch of the first ever Poolside’s Daytime Disco event in San Francisco’s Union Square is special by design. The city is such an important part of Poolside’s history. It’s where Jeffrey Paradise had called home for years; first as a SFSU alumnus, and later as a DJ and Promoter of the famed Blow Up SF Parties.
Geared towards revitalizing the city through music, Another Planet Entertainment and its management arm Another Planet Management has been involved with many public area shows this season. Beyond Poolside’s Daytime Disco party and EMPIRE 15, other free shows Another Planet Entertainment and the City of San Francisco have done include two at Embarcadero Plaza with Dirtybird, one with Portugal. The Man at Civic Center and another for Empire’s Bay & Boots with Don Louis and Sophia Scott.
“Arts and culture are helping to drive San Francisco’s comeback, and free concerts in Union Square and Civic Center Plaza are perfect examples of how we're attracting people to our city. When we bring energy back downtown, people from across the region and the country come shop at our businesses, eat at our restaurants, and drive our economic recovery,” says Mayor Daniel Lurie. “I'm thrilled to partner with Another Planet Entertainment to invest in San Francisco and help some of our most iconic public spaces thrive.”
"Live music brings energy, joy, and people into our downtown spaces—and we’re thrilled to keep that tradition going this summer with another world-class lineup, all for free,” says San Francisco Recreation and Parks General Manager Phil Ginsburg. “These shows aren’t just about great performances—they’re about making San Francisco’s center a destination for vibrant, one-of-a-kind experiences. They support our local economy, activate our parks, and remind us how fun it is to be outdoors together. With every show, our partnership with Another Planet gets stronger, and we’re proud to continue building a downtown that’s alive with culture, community, and connection."
“Union Square has been on a steady rise,” adds Union Square Alliance CEO Marisa Rodriguez. “Whether it’s iconic brands opening up flagship stores in the district or visitors and locals enjoying free, family-friendly programming right in the square, this community is having a strong year, and will continue to be a venue for lifelong memories and great music with this Poolside concert in September. We want to thank Mayor Lurie and our city leaders, in addition to the team at Another Planet Entertainment, for putting together this amazing event.”
Shares Bryan Duquette, Founder of Another Planet Management, “Geared towards revitalizing the city through music, Poolside’s Daytime Disco and EMPIRE 15 Concert joins other free shows Another Planet Entertainment and the City of San Francisco have done since 2024. These include two Embarcadero Plaza plays with Dirtybird, one with Portugal. The Man at Civic Center and another for Empire’s Bay & Boots with Don Louis and Sophia Scott at Union Square. This concert series aims to ensure that downtown San Francisco remains a destination for live music, entertainment, and the arts.”
Currently APE is gearing up for three major events in Golden Gate Park: August 1-3 with Dead & Co, celebrating 60 years of The Grateful Dead; August 8-10 with the 17th edition of Outside Lands, a true celebration of all things San Francisco which will have over 200,000 fans expected; And August 15 Zach Bryan with special guests Kinds of Leon will round out seven nights of music in the park for the Golden Gate Park Concerts at the Polo Field. The series made its debut in 2024 with System of a Down and Deftones selling out in record time with 50,000 fans attending the groundbreaking new outdoor, live music experience. Granted by the City of San Francisco, it marked the first-ever headline concert to take place in Golden Gate Park after dark.
