We want to share an important update about the future Rachele Sullivan Park.
In recent years, the development impact fees that traditionally support capital projects in the parks have shrunk considerably due to slower development rates and modifications to the impact fees received by the City. These conditions have created significant funding challenges for our projects, including Rachele Sullivan Park.
While construction drawings for the new park are nearly complete, we do not yet have sufficient funding identified to move forward with construction at this time. The project will be effectively put on hold until funding can be identified.
Rec and Park is actively working to close this funding gap, including looking at securing funds through an upcoming bond measure. We will share more updates as our funding for this project becomes clearer and we know more about the project timeline.
