Golden Gate Park - Middle Lake | Construction update, May 2024

Rec Park Improvements | All Project Updates Posted on May 03, 2024

Hello, neighbors. Since our last update in March, the taps at Middle Lake are now open and the cascade is flowing!

If you’ve been by the lake recently, you may have noticed that the lake is now full, receiving water from South Lake and from the Cascade. Water in the Cascade comes from both the Casting Ponds and from the park’s irrigation system.

Other noticeable and recent construction milestones include near-completion of planting, pathway paving around the lake, furnishings, and initial layout of accessibility improvements at the old speedway meadow parking lot.

Construction fences will remain up around the project perimeter until the project is completed. We’re aiming to complete the project and reopen the paths around the lake by the end of the summer. As soon as we have a clear date of completion, we’ll announce the details. Stay tuned!
