San Francisco Public Works has a contractor on board and will begin repaving of the southern portion of Twin Peaks Boulevard in August. This project will use an interesting technique called “Cold in Place Reycling (CIR).” Cold In-place Recycling (CIR) is defined as a rehabilitation technique in which the existing pavement materials are reused in place.
Rec and Park has partnered with Public Works to include 2 new roadway crossings as part of this project. Please see below for approximate location of new crossings, which will be located to serve the new Portola Trail and other, soon to be improved/realigned trails. The project also includes repair of the asphalt berm on a portion of the eastern side of the roadway, which addresses concerns neighbors raised prior to the installation of the Portola Trail in 2013.
