It’s high season for special events in Dolores Park. Last weekend, the park hosted it’s first of the year’s movie nights. This weekend, Pride festivities will be going on , with the Trans March on Friday night and the Dyke March on Saturday afternoon. Due to playground construction, most of the season’s special events have been moved from their usual location on the south side of the park, to the north side. In order to accomodate the extra crowds expected in this area of the park for Dyke March, the south bound lanes of Dolores St. between 18th and 19th will be closed on Saturday, June 25th.
RPD staff are gearing up for a big post- Dyke March clean up effort on Saturday night. A substantial crew of approximately twenty RPD staff and volunteers will be on hand. DPW and Recology will also be on hand for streetscape clean up. The RPD porta pottie units have been removed for the weekend to alleviate congestion in the bell plaza area.
