Dolores Park, the epicenter of indiscriminate littering in San Francisco in recent weeks, is a lot cleaner after a Facebook drive.
The Friends of Dolores Park, a group formed after park-goers clashed with Rec and Parks rangers over park rules a couple of weeks ago, handed out more than 100 trash bags for people to pick up after themselves Saturday. The cleanup left the park virtually trash-free by 7 p.m.
“It was a resounding success,” said organizer Andrew Rogers, adding that the Friends now have over 200 members on Facebook.
