Glen Canyon Park is located off of O’Shaugnessy Boulevard and Elk Street. The approximately 67-acre park offers visitors a recreation center, including a gymnasium, auditorium, offices, and related amenities; a two-story Silver Tree Day Camp building; hiking trails, open space, and creek; two baseball fields; two tennis courts; a children’s play area; and a picnic area.
This project is funded by the 2012 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond and has been allocated $12 million dollars.

The new stairway has been built! The contractor is now working on rebuilding the top landing and barrier rail where the sidewalk meets the stair. Framing for the lower portion of the stair has been installed. The construction crew is now working on grading and excavation prior to building the upper stair.

The stair replacement at Sussex and Elk Streets has been delayed for several weeks. Upon demolition of the existing stair, it was determined that field conditions varied from anticipated conditions, requiring adjustments to the design and additional coordination with the contractor.
