The San Francisco Recreation and Parks Departments has a variety of Recreation Centers and Clubhouses with rooms available for rent. The rooms include auditoriums, meeting rooms, gymnasiums, dance rooms and kitchens. Availability and rules vary. We do not have detailed descriptions of rooms and the best way to learn about a room is to visit it. If you have questions, call (415) 831-5500.

Indoor facilities, such as recreation centers, do not have a Dance Hall License and therefore they are not available for DJ or dancing events. Indoor rentals do not include use of any adjacent outdoor spaces. To reserve those spaces, you must obtain a separate permit. Please note that those spaces may be reserved by others.
HOW TO APPLY
Weekend Rentals: Indoor room rentals on Saturdays and Sundays are generally offered from 9 am to 1 pm or 2 pm to 6 pm. This timing allows us to accommodate more users.You can see availability of rooms for weekend rentals by going to the weekend availability calendar.
Once you have found the perfect location for your event you can complete an online application.

WHEN TO APPLY
Indoor reservations requests must be submitted 2 weeks prior to the date of the rental and must be paid and finalized 10 days prior to the date of the rental.
Recreation Center and Clubhouse Rooms become available to be reserved on specific dates.
- Reservations for the Spring (3/17/19 – 6/2/19) can first be requested on Wed, Jan 23, 2019
- Reservations for the Summer (6/3/19 – 8/18/19) can first be requested on Wed, Apr 3, 2019
- Reservations for the Fall (8/19/19 – 1/4/20) can first be requested on Wed, June 19, 2019
- Reservations for the Winter (1/5/20 – 3/16/20) can first be requested on Wed, October 16, 2019.
Please note that the Permits Office is planning to transition into a new system where customers will have the opportunity to reserve select indoor facilities online.
Indoor rentals require a security deposit starting at $250. The security deposit is to ensure that all terms of the permit are followed including the requirement to clean the site after use and remove all trash.
CANCELLATIONS AND CHANGES
Cancellations and Changes: For rentals less than $1,000 in facility fees, any changes or cancellations must be made at least 10 business days prior to the event date. For rentals of $1,000 or more in facility fees, any changes or cancellations must be at least one month prior to the event date. In the case of any authorized cancellation or change there will also be a fee of the higher of $26 or 20% of the fee. In addition, if you would like a refund (as opposed to a credit to your account), there will be a refund fee of the higher of $13 or 20% of the refund amount. There are no changes or cancellations allowed after the above deadlines.
