Dear Mission Pool users,
The health and wellbeing of our swimmers and pool staff is our top priority. As you know, there are major wildfires burning in Northern California. Current wind patterns are causing the smoke from those fires to spread across the Bay Area, including San Francisco.
As of the morning of Saturday, November 10, the air quality index in San Francisco was red, or unhealthy. We have closed Mission Pool until further notice due to health concerns pertaining to air quality.
Vulnerable groups, including children, elderly people, and those with respiratory issues may be particularly affected by the poor air quality and should limit time outdoors and strenuous activity.
We are in close contact with the city’s Department of Emergency Management and Department of Public Health and will continue to follow their protocols and update you as necessary.
We will be monitoring the air quality throughout the weekend.
