The Project is being recommended for $1.7M in One Bay Area Grant (OBAG) funding. If we secure the OBAG funds, we will have about $5.1M in transportation funds for the project.
After months of community outreach including distributing a community feedback form and hosting multiple community meetings, the project team created a final preliminary design which was presented to the community in March and to the Rec & Park Commission in April.
The new design for Mansell Street places the vehicular traffic on the south side of the median and the pedestrians and bikes on the north side. The new design also includes additional traffic calming measures, clearly marked crosswalks for the major intersections, and additional lighting.
The condition of the road will be improved with new paving, and pedestrians and bikes will have a dedicated and safe route through the park. To review the final preliminary design and view other materials presented at our community meetings, please see the links under “Documents and Materials”.
