New Volunteer Opportunity: SFRPD Trail Corps
May 18 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm| Free
Calling all trails fans! Do you love hiking trails in San Francisco? Want to be part of the team that builds and maintains your favorite trails in the City? The San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department’s Urban Trails Program invites you to join us in a kick-off volunteer workparty, where you will gain valuable experience in the basics of trail maintenance and learn more about the new Volunteer Trails Corps.
The volunteer Trail Corps will help us maintain over 30 miles of urban trails in parks throughout the city: Glen Canyon, John McLaren, and Mount Davidson to name a few. Work alongside program staff and other trails enthusiasts, learning many aspects of trail design, construction and maintenance, while enjoying the great outdoors in some of the City’s most beautiful natural areas.
Our kick-off introductory volunteer workparty will take place on May 18, 2019 at Glen Canyon Park where volunteers will prune trailside vegetation and perform trail tread maintenance. Future dates and sites will be scheduled, so be sure to check the listing of volunteer opportunities on the SFRPD website by clicking HERE.
