Golden Gate Park Natural Resources Division Nursery Volunteer Workparty

An event every month that begins at 9:30 am on day First of the month, repeating until July 31, 2019


Please join the Natural Resources Division at the Golden Gate Park Nursery in propagating San Francisco native plants from seeds, spores or cuttings. All seeds and plants being propagated were collected from wild populations currently growing in San Francisco. This is a great opportunity to acquire plant propagation skills, and to deepen your knowledge of the San Francisco flora. Many of the plants will be planted in one of many restoration sites. These plants will enhancement and aid wildlife habitat. The event will occur rain or shine.

    • Minimum volunteer age is 12 years old
    • Volunteer tasks include plant propagation including sowing, transplanting and weeding
    • Please wear close toed shoes and appropriate clothing for physical work
    • Tools and gloves will be provided
    • Light snacks will be offered
    • Meet at 100 Martin Luther King Jr Drive by 9:30 AM sharp, staff will then escort volunteers into the nursery compound for the duration of the event.
