|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every month that begins at 9:30am on day First of the month, repeating until July 31, 2019

The SFRPD Natural Resources Division Nursery will offer a series of volunteer opportunities in 2018!

We will propagate San Francisco native plants from seeds, spores or cuttings, all collected from wild populations, currently growing in San Francisco. This is a great opportunity to acquire plant propagation skills, and deepen your knowledge of the San Francisco flora.  Many of the plants we grow will be planted this winter, as part of a trails and restoration capital project in the Oak Woodlands of Golden Gate Park, among other sites.

  • Minimum Volunteer Age: 12 years and older
  • Volunteer Tasks: plant propagation including sowing, transplanting and weeding
  • Attire: Wear close toed shoes and appropriate clothing for physical work
  • Refreshments: Light snacks will be offered
  • Please meet at 100 Martin Luther King Jr Drive by 9:45 AM sharp, staff will then escort volunteers into the nursery compound for the duration of the event.
  • For day of event information, please contact Licia at (415) 819-4290.
