Free Youth Bike Swap

Yellow Bike, a nonprofit bicycle advocacy group, will sponsor a free bike swap, hosted by Tenderloin Children’s Recreation Center.
Who: Youth (ages 5-16) and their guardians
Date: Saturday, March 18, 2017
Time: 12-4 pm
Location: Tenderloin Recreation Center (570 Ellis St.)

  • swap wrong-sized or non-functional complete bicycle for another one
  • have our mechanics assess your child’s bike and make repairs
  • get help fitting your child’s bike to your child
  • learn some basic riding skills

San Francisco Yellow Bike Project and San Francisco Bicycle Coalition are teaming up to bring more cycling cheer to the Tenderloin. Come check out our free Kids’ Bike Swap. Please bring your wrong-sized or non-functional complete bike to swap for another. We will have volunteers on hand to help match bikes and kids, demonstrate proper helmet use, and even offer advice on basic riding skills.

If you do not have a bike to swap SFYBP will have some bikes available for donation. Please inquire for sliding scale pricing.

General guidelines (Specific bicycle may vary in price according to resale value):

  • ≤ 12” wheels = $10
  • 16” wheels = $15
  • 20” wheels = $20
  • 24” wheels = $30
