Find activities and programs for all ages at this full-service Rec Center in the Marina District. The popular facility includes an indoor gym, community rooms, two play areas, a basketball court, two tennis courts, four ball diamonds, a putting green, Dog Park and fully renovated playground.

Local legend has it that Joe DiMaggio took Marilyn Monroe for a stroll in this park just hours before they tied the knot at City Hall. Formerly known as Funston Park, it was renamed for Mayor Moscone, who was assassinated in 1978.

Q: Where are you located?

A: The recreation center is located at 1800 Chestnut Street at corner of Buchannan Street.

Q: What facilities do you have?

A: The rec center houses a Gymnasium, Stage, Arts & Crafts Room, Multi-Purpose Community Room, Patio space, Kitchen, and Interior and Exterior Restrooms. Our outdoor amenities include a Baseball Diamond, 3 Softball Diamonds, 2 Playgrounds, Picnic Area, 2 Outdoor Basketball Courts, 4 Tennis Courts, Putting Green, 6 Mini-Driving Range Cages, and an enclosed Dog Play Area.

Q: What programs do you offer?

A: We offer a variety of courses and programs including; Early Childhood Development, Art, Ceramics, Baking, Senior Socials, Golf, Basketball, Summer Camps, and more! Please call 415-292-2045 or check sfrecpark.org for our most up-to-date offerings.

Q: Are you available for rentals?

A: Yes. If you have questions about renting any of our facilities for your meeting, birthday party, sports tournament, etc. Please contact the Permits and Reservations Office by calling 415-831-5500.
