    Join the SFRPD gardeners and the Buena Vista Neighborhood Association in a monthly volunteer workparty focused on planting, gardening and maintenance projects throughout the park.  Please wear closed-toed shoes and dress in layers.  Event takes place rain or shine.   2. Mountain Lake Park Volunteer Workparty

    October 17, 2020, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Mountain Lake Park

    Join the Mountain Lake Park Volunteers and SFRPD gardeners in beautifying this large neighborhood park with many recreational amenities: children's playground, tennis courts, green lawns, a natural lake and extensive walking paths.  Volunteer gardening tasks include native plant resotoration, pullling invasive weeds, cleaning up the dog run, and occasional planting of trees.  Tools and gloves are provided. Please wear closed-toed shoes, long pants and layers. The event will occur rain or shine. Meet at playground near the Lake St & 12th Ave entrance to the park.   3. White Crown Sparrow Habitat Restoration at the Bison Paddock

    October 17, 2020, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ The Bison Paddock in Golden Gate Park

    Volunteer with the Audubon Society at the Bison Paddock of Golden Gate Park and help to restore the habitat of the endangered white crown sparrow. Lend a hand with weeding and tending a garden of native plants that comprise a critical nesting area for the endangered sparrow. Please wear appropriate attire: closed-toed shoes, long pants and layers of clothing. Meet at John F Kennedy Drive between 36th Avenue and Chain of Lakes Drive East in front of the Bison Paddock.
