Recreation and Park, together with the SFMTA, presented the first public meeting on the Visitacion Avenue Sidewalk and Streetscape Project. The project is part of the departments larger efforts to address pedestrian, bike and street improvements throughout McLaren Park.
The virtual meeting, held on Thursday, February 10 reviewed previous planning efforts that included the roadway through McLaren Park and discussed potential options for creating new connecting sidewalks, slowing and calming vehicles, and adding bike lanes. Thanks to all who attended the meeting and contributed and provided feedback during the meeting and its breakout sessions. The project is a planning effort to develop designs for an improved Visitacion Ave so that a preferred plan can be developed, and that once designed, can allow the department to seek funding to implement the preferred plan.
If you were unable to make this online meeting, please find the presentation here and the meeting notes here for your review. The presentation and notes are also be posted in the “Documents and Materials” section of the website project page.
We are working to develop more a more refined design to be presenting in a follow up public meeting later this spring.
Stay tuned for more updates. Thank you!
