The project has experienced significant delays due to COVID-19, winter rain, and subcontractor scheduling challenges, but construction is over three quarters complete at Shoreview Park and there is a solid plan for finishing work in early spring.
Exciting news is that the playground equipment--which was partially donated by Kompan, Inc. and added to the project scope after the construction contract began—is now installed! There is a high adventure value to the large climbing net and slide play elements, which target youth age 5-12.
There are at least another 6 weeks of construction and plant establishment and we are currently targeting mid-April for park opening. In the coming weeks you’ll see safety surfacing, landscaping, and picnic tables, barbecues, and exercise equipment installed.
