Capital Project Update

mclaren park trails project 62020

Thank you to the 40 community members who stepped into the unknown with the Project Team for Rec and Parks first virtual community meeting! Thanks for your comments and questions and for bearing with us as we worked with the new technology.

Click here for the Conceptual Design Key Map and Summary, which contains the 7 key maps created by the project team, summaries of the proposed improvements in each area, and a list of all proposed improvements.

The intent of the meeting was to respond to community requests for as much information as we have at this time. Please keep in mind that proposed and existing trail alignments that are shown are approximate. The project is in the conceptual design phase and trails projects are design-build in nature; precise trail alignments will respond to field conditions and detailed maps will only be available after construction.

The project team will continue to refine the design, have survey completed in key areas, move forward with environmental review for the Visitacion Avenue Trail and crosswalk on Shelley at the Upper Reservoir, and refine our cost estimate. We are still targeting presentation of the final conceptual design to the Recreation and Parks Commission in summer 2020.

Please reach out to Project Manager Lauren Dietrich Chavez with questions or comments.
