Like an emerald rising from the sand dunes of western San Francisco, Golden Gate Park has served as a playground for all San Franciscans. The park and its 1,017 acres has served as a refuge for families, supporting our residents after the 1906 earthquake; the backdrop for the Summer of Love; and today boasts 24 million annual visitors from across the Bay Area and around the world, who enjoy recreation, open spaces and events for all.
Co-hosted with the San Francisco Parks Alliance, Golden Gate Park's 150th Anniversary will be celebrated with a year full of exciting events, from a Community Day on April 4, 2020, to a long list of signature events with community partners and organizations.
Stay tuned for more exciting news as we approach 2020 and Golden Gate Park's 150th Anniversary!
