Thanks to everyone who came out to our fifth and final community workshop on July 11th, where over 200 people attended. We are grateful for the consistently high level of engagement the Chinatown community has demonstrated throughout our community process and all 5 workshops, resulting in an inspiring concept design for the future of Portsmouth Square that reflects the community’s feedback and vision.
The design team walked us through the evolution of the concept design after months of feasibility study and making the necessary refinements to achieve all the desired features of the community’s vision.
Since the July 11th workshop, we have initiated the city regulatory review process, beginning with environmental review. Once environmental review is completed the project will be presented to the Rec and Park Commission for concept design approval, before moving into the next phase of design development.
