Strawberry Hill Butterfly Habitat Restoration Project

Saturday, July 11, 2020

If you love your parks, and are looking for a meaningful and substantive way to make a positive difference, come on out and volunteer with the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department! On the second Saturday of every month, we enhance habitat on Strawberry Hill in Golden Gate Park. We remove invasive weeds, and put in plant species that Swallowtails and other butterflies need to thrive. It’s an inspiring and fun day in a gorgeous setting. Each month, we build on the progress begun at our first work day in September 2010, maintaining and adding more and more butterfly habitat on the slopes and top of Strawberry Hill. This is an ongoing program – we’re looking for both occasional volunteers, and those who would like to be involved on a regular basis. To register for this volunteer opportunity, please email recparkvolunteer@sfgov.org or call 415-831-6884.
