The Peace Parks program seeks to promote community wellness and violence prevention in underserved communities in District 10. It offers a safe space for residents of all ages, with a focus on youth ages 16 to 25, where they can engage in healthy recreational activities while also building relationships with their neighbors, recreation staff, & police officers assigned to their communities. Check out what the program is all about with the video below!  

Peace Parks Programming: 

Peace Parks is a year round program that operates Thursday through Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. at Potrero Hill Recreation Center, Youngblood Coleman Playground clubhouse, Herz Playground clubhouse and Joseph Lee Recreation Center. Peace Park activities include: 

  • Boys to Men Development Program 
  • Cooking Classes & Nutrition Education 
  • Cosmetology & Barber Program
  • Dance Classes
  • DJ/Music Classes
  • Father Mentor Program
  • Graphic Design & Art Classes  
  • Job Readiness/Entrepreneurship Classes 
  • Sports & Fitness Training (Including basketball & boxing) 
  • Sports Leagues (Including basketball & indoor soccer) 
  • Young Ladies Empowerment Program
