Do you like working outdoors and working with youth? Are you excited to educate the next generation about caring for the world around them? Want to get your environmental education career off the ground? Join a team of SCA/Americorps interns and run the Youth Stewardship Program this year from October 2016 – August 2017.
— Able to engage and comfortable managing groups of youth and or adults for 2+ hours
— Works well in a team setting and similarly, is self-motivated and can work independently
— Passion for the environment and working outdoors
— Strong verbal and written communication skills
— Computer literate; MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Internet
— Previous related experience or background in biology, environmental studies, or other related subjects or strong interest and willing to learn independently and through experience
— B.A. or B.S. in related subject (preferred not required)
— Multi-lingual, ideally in Spanish and/or Cantonese
— Comfortable driving large trucks or willing to learn
— Ideally a Bay Area resident
— Willing to work occasional off hours and outdoors in inclement weather
— California State Drivers’ License with a good driving record
— Experience working with youth is a must
— Must be able to fully commit to 40 hours per week and total 1700 hours; 10 month commitment.
