World Water Day at Jefferson Square

World Water Day at Jefferson Square

On March 22, members of the Public Utilities Commission, Rec and Park, and Friends of Jefferson Square Park celebrated World Water Day and the recent completion of significant water conservation projects at three city parks–Jefferson Square, Alta Plaza and Balboa Park. These improvements will save the city 5 million gallons of water each year and maximize the use of non-potable water in our parks. These projects were made possible by more than $2 million in PUC Large Landscape Retrofit Grants. Check out our photo album here.
